Wed. Jan 28th 2010: Students from the MPT department at the Hartt School spent a day with Gabe at the Powerstation NE where they observed a large-format session.

Wed. Dec 2nd: AudioGabriel Cheif Engineer, Gabe Herman presented an exposé on his unique Post-Production workflow to the Boston Pro Tools User Group at Parsons Audio in Newton, MA.
Gabe discussed how he utilizes some of the features of digidesign's Pro Tools software in his workflow. This included his approach to memory locations, region list, workspace finder and other session organization techniques for post audio application (and a little bit of music too). The event also included a lively discussion about how to work with Television network standards in audio broadcast and the common issues faced with editors and their deliverables. From left to right: Gabe Herman, J Franze, Dana ColleyAES Event: February 5, 2009 On January 12th, 2009, the CDIA Waltham campus hosted its first CDIABU Student Chapter Audio Engineering Society event, titled "Building and Maintaining a Successful Career in Audio Production." This event featured a panel of Boston-based producers and engineers answering questions and sharing their experiences in the world of audio.
"Our three panelists were Gabe Herman, J Franze and Dana Colley. Gabe is familiar to CDIA students as the assistant director of the Audio Production program and faculty, helping us master the art of mixing. He also works extensively in the world of audio as an engineer, producer, sound designer and composer, as well as running his own studio business. J Franze owns his own production company and is a seasoned professional in many areas of the audio industry, with a diploma in Audio Production from the SAE Institute of Technology as well as certification in Engineering and Music Production and a certificate in Music Business. He’s also written two books and worked with many artists in Nashville, New York and Boston. Dana Colley is best known for playing the baritone sax for Boston's own Morphine. He is currently involved with HI-N-DRY Studios and is a core member of the Mark Sandman Music Project, which actively brings music and music education to local youth.

Gabe is an active educator in audio production and music management. He currently teaches at the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, CT. where he is the Assistant Director of the Music Production & Technology Department and adjunct faculty in the Department of Performing Arts/Music Management.
